Reiki After discovering the reiki master/teacher that I was going to choose to initiate me into reiki healing, (see Reiki Series - Part 1 - Introduction (Or How I Found Reiki), I called to arrange to have a reiki treatment to confirm that the person I had been recommended was definitely the right teacher for me.
Upon arriving at her house, I knew that this was where I would be spending regular time. Walking into her large, spacious healing room felt like being embraced by a warm hug. It was a special feeling, like I had come home. I felt relaxed and excited all at the same time.

We sat down first, and chatted for a while. She asked me why I had come, and what I though she could help me with. I was told that Usui Reiki, the original system of reiki, was the system that she used and taught. That she channeled pure reiki, and didn't combine it with any other modalities (such as, chakra & energy balancing, colour therapy, crystal therapy, pranic healing, sound healing, psychic readings, counselling, life coaching or past life regression).
She proceeded to ask me to lay on her massage table and close my eyes. Some of the most beautiful music I had ever hear was played and I began to enter a state of deep relaxation like I had never experienced before. Within what seemed like only a minute or so, I felt as if I had disconnected from my physical body, gently floating slightly above it. I went into a dream-like state but was vaguely aware that I was not asleep. I felt conscious and alert, but didn't care to think about anything in particular. In fact, all my cares and worries seemed to simply melt away and in their place came swirls of colour and flashes of past memories that brought me joy. I felt a sense of calm and certainty that everything was alright and exactly as is should be.
At a certain point the lady gently kissed me on the forehead and encouraged me to open my eyes. It had only been one hour, but I felt as though I had slept the best 8 hour night I could remember! This was the beginning of a series of reiki sessions I had with her, while waiting for her upcoming Reiki Level 1 Workshop to commence.
